Anyone with a lung condition or breathless due to covid is welcome to come and give the group a try and see if it is for you. New people are welcome at any time. You can be referred by a practitioner, with your consent, or refer youreself to the group.
Please let us know the person’s name, contact details and lung condition.
You may like to watch this short presentation to tell you a little more about the group and some of the research evidence.
It is helpful to know when new participants are coming – so Jane has an understanding of your individual needs and so we can look out for you. But you will not be turned away if you just show up.
A typical session includes:
- Gentle physical warm up exercises (seated if that is best for you)
- Breathing exercises
- Vocal warm up exercises
- A range of songs
We take the risk of covid seriously and follow risk mitigation measures, including:
- 2m distance between singers
- wear a face covering (unless exempt) while arriving and leaving (not whilst singing)
- take a lateral flow test before coming
- do not attend if unwell in any way
A copy of the full risk assessment is sent out to all singers.
Prior to the pandemic sessions were for one and a half hours and included a short break for tea, biscuits and chat. We hope to be able to resume this when it feels safe to do so.
We ask for a donation of £4/2 per session, but cost should not be a barrier to anyone coming. The important thing is that you come and sing.
